Critical Discourse Analysis of Diaspora Writings: A New Paradigm

This study attempted a literary discourse analysis of Unnikrishnan’s debut book Temporary People (Unnikrishnan,2017) diasporic text that presents socio-cultural patterns immigrants in the Gulf region, with language emerging as strong tool. The aim this was to attempt an inter-sectional Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and Diaspora suggest new paradigm shift research studies both genres. thematic content approach used investigate by adopting Fairclough’s (2003) three-dimension CDA framework viz., textual (description), process (interpretation), social (explanation). investigated how author described, interpreted explored lives immigrants; semiotics design narrative practices; achieve functionality text, unite two ideologies or findings will provide pedagogical indicators insight teachers apply technique teaching particularly fiction.
